Frequently Asked Questions
Questions? Contact info@naiopwa.org or 206-382-9121 for more information.
1. Who can nominate a project or a firm for an award?
Anyone on the team can submit a nomination as long as they have approval from the Owner/Sponsor.
2. How do I log in to the sytem?
The Night of the Stars online nomination system is separate from the NAIOPWA website. If you submitted a nomination since 2016, you are in luck. Your profile/login still exists. If you are new to the system, simply create a new login/password. If you would like to access a former employee's profile, send your request to info@naiopwa.org.
3. Can I make a test submission, or download a printable copy of the form?
Of course! Feel free to walk through the system to understand all of the requirements. All test submissions will be deleted after July 19. However, please note that all nominations must be submitted via the online application system by 11:59 p.m. July 19. Nominations sent by any other means will not be accepted.
4. Do I have to be a NAIOPWA member to nominate a project or company?
Non-members can nominate any outstanding project or company in our area. A NAIOPWA member must be on the team, which isn't hard to do. NAIOP Washington has 1,000 members and is the 4th largest chapter nationwide. To learn more about membership, visit our website.
5. Is there a limit on how many projects or companies I can nominate?
There is no limit on the number of nominations from an individual; however, a project can only be nominated in one category. A nominated project can also be listed in the Developer of the Year nomination for a firm.
6. Do I need to submit professional photos for the nomination?
Finalist photos can appear on the NAIOPWA website and social media, at the Gala, and in the Puget Sound Business Journal. Give us your best project photos from the start, and don't forget, a photographer's photo release is required.
7. What if I don't know which category to submit the nomination under?
Just pick the best category that applies to your nomination. Please contact info@naiopwa.org with questions about how to categorize your project. NAIOPWA reserves the right to reassign nomination award categories and create new ones.
8. Can I nominate a public/private project?
Unfortunately, the only category that permits public funding is Affordable Housing Development of the Year. Nominations for all other categories prohibit public funding and/or public entities.
9. Can I nominate a project located outside of Washington?
NAIOPWA's Night of the Stars awards program recognizes the best commercial real estate development projects in Washington State. Though many of our members create exceptional projects around the country and the world, those located outside the state of Washington are not eligible.
10. Can I submit final photos after the deadline?
NAIOPWA will allow photos to be submitted after the deadline until Sept. 6, 2024. To submit photos after the deadline, email info@naiopwa.org. The original submitter of the nomination will need to load the photos. If you would like to take advantage of the extended deadline, submit renderings with your nomination.
