Description
Located in the heart of downtown Tacoma in an Opportunity Zone, The Astor at the Washington Building features 156 apartment units meticulously restored to maintain the historic character of this 1925 Beaux Arts style building while complying with National Parks Service rehab requirements and delivering much-needed housing to the neighborhood. Construction teams quickly adapted to fortify the building’s rare and antiquated floor structural system while leveraging Historic Tax Credits and two local tax financing programs.
