Beam [WINNER]
Category
Multi-Family Residential Urban Development of the Year: More than 100 Units
Description
Beam is a mixed-use, transit-oriented development, intended as a catalyst for revitalizing a part of Seattle’s aging, but deeply established, “Little Saigon” neighborhood. This 321-unit, seven-story, mid-rise building is the area’s first, primarily market-rate, project, and stands as a successful precedent for future community growth and development. The design highlight is an innovative through-block passageway that uses community-sourced art, materials, and small-scale retail spaces to reflect the essence of this unique neighborhood.
