Description

The Hines Seattle Headquarters is a tenant improvement project that pushed the envelope on low-embodied carbon design. Through circular design principles, the team maximized the reuse of materials and minimized waste, giving the end-of-life treatment of existing materials as much consideration as the use of new, low-carbon materials. Together, using an innovative carbon calculator, the project achieved a 65% reduction in embodied carbon, while providing a workplace that serves its cultural and functional imperatives.
