Description
Aster Townhomes is a 54-unit, two- and three-bedroom open floor plan townhouse development in Sumner, WA. Within walking distance to Sumner’s historic downtown, the Sounder commuter train station, and the new 110,000-square-foot Gordon Family YMCA, this boutique townhome project offers small-town charm with urban-style amenities.
With Tarragon’s purchase of the foreclosed land in 2013, Aster Townhomes is the first multi-family project to deliver in Sumner in more than 13 years. Tarragon overcame a multitude of obstacles including significant discrepancies on the title, city code limitations, and physical site constraints, which made this location undevelopable for most firms. However, the Tarragon team was able to work through those issues with a townhouse design, which contributed greatly to the success of the project. The market knowledge and coordinated in-house effort led to Aster Townhomes to be 100 percent pre-leased six months early, even prior to achieving its final scheduled certificate of occupancy.
