Mixed-Use Development of the Year
Description
When Skanska and SkB Architects set out to develop 400 Fairview, we avoided following the status quo for office development, and instead pursued a strategy that would help the businesses in the market succeed in attracting talent. The result is a collaborative place supported by an interactive open-air ground floor and market hall with curated, small-scale, “lifestyle support” retail, services, cafes and a restaurant, plus convertible indoor/outdoor space for programmed and spontaneous events. The project vision focused on the human experience and how to foster a great lifestyle at work: 13 stories overlook South Lake Union, office floors are expansive and day-lit, and roof gardens offer respite and views of the city and lake. 400 Fairview is a customer-focused, highly sustainable 350,000-square-foot premier mixed-use office building that leased the fastest in its Seattle market, ultimately elevating our brand and reputation for innovation, green building and place-making.
