Perkins+Will's Healthy New Office
Category
Office Interiors of the Year
Description
Committed to breaking barriers in sustainability, the new Perkins+Will office has set the standard in beautiful, healthy workspaces. Located in the iconic Rainier Tower, the interior design was inspired by the unique geometry of the building’s penny tiles, while creating a modern space that celebrates the firm’s work and people. Common spaces share the best views, while the studio is an open, continuous work area punctuated with collaboration spaces of various size, shape and medium complimenting Perkins+Will architectural delivery style. Form and beauty are only half the story. The real challenge was creating the space without the use of 25 chemicals identified on the firm’s Precautionary List for their potentially harmful impacts on human health and the environment. The quest proved to be industry-changing, driving the project team to further develop product knowledge and creating pathways for clients to actualize healthy environments for their projects.
