Port of Seattle, Pier 66 Terminal Renovation
Category
Redevelopment/Renovation of the Year
Description
The Pier 66 Terminal Renovation expanded and modernized current facilities in anticipation of the Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Cruise Line’s new monster ship, sailing into Seattle. This ship has the capacity to carry 5,000 passengers to Alaska, together with hundreds more crew members, compared to a previous maximum terminal passenger count of 3,500. The renovation added a 25,000-square-foot mezzanine level and was phased to minimize impact to ongoing operations within the occupied terminal building.
